The Winner’s Culture aspires to provide a new generation with definitions of what it means to be a winner that go beyond material success. We do this by empowering students with the 21st century skills to create their own platforms and tell their own stories—becoming winners in their own right.

  • Our instructors are all young Black professionals coming from education, sports, digital media and communications backgrounds. Our credentials and combined experience includes companies such as:

    • ESPN

    • RCA Records

    • BET

    • Atlantic Records

    • Milkboy Studio

    All instructors receive PA State Child Abuse Clearances and an FBI Background Check.

What Students Learn

Unit 1: Storytelling

In Unit 1 Students Will:

  • Examine how media professionals, marketing specialists and content creators use storytelling to connect with viewers in a workshop all about the importance of finding your voice and telling your story

  • Practice public speaking by engage in structured dialogue to explore what makes their own story unique

  • Conduct speed-interviews to practice asking and answering meaningful questions.

Unit 2: Videography

In Unit 2 Students Will:

  • Use professional video and sound equipment in workshops all about capturing the perfect shot, developing a unique perspective & sharing what the world looks like through your eyes

  • Capture videos and photographs of their everyday life showing off their unique POV

Unit 3: Editing

In Unit 3 Students Will:

  • Learn the basics of editing visual content in Canva and CapCut with an emphasis on discovering how well crafted content can connect with people to make them feel something

  • Edit videos they create to highlight meaningul or memorable moments

Unit 4: Producing a Live Podcast

In Unit 4 Students Will:

  • Work together in small ‘recording crews’ to film, edit and produce a 5-minute interview-style podcast.

  • Choose a role in the crew, specializing in one of the three core skills learned in Weeks 1-3

  • Script meaningful questions, capture the right shots, develop a confident on-screen persona and edit short clips that can be shared after.

  • Walk away with their own professional content that can be added to a resume or portfolio!
